Business premises

Commercial locksmith Mutxamel, for counters in town and units at Riodel

A shop that will not open at nine, an office whose cylinder has jammed, a unit at Riodel with the van loaded and the door shut. Two jobs, done properly: getting the door open, and changing the cylinders and locks on it, out of trading hours if that suits you better.

Riodel

Units on the industrial park off the Xixona road

The Riodel park runs to some 350,000 m² beside the road from Mutxamel to Xixona. It was created in 2009, and more than 25 firms work there. Since the 2022 modernisation it has had a closed-circuit camera system connected to the Policía Local, which is worth remembering if a unit has been tried: tell the police which door and when.

A unit that will not open usually means a seized cylinder on the side door or a padlocked shutter whose lock has given up. What to check before you ring saves time on the morning it happens.

In town

Shops and offices in the centre

Mutxamel’s economy has moved from the fields to services, with Alicante ten kilometres away. Shops and offices in the centre deal with the same few problems: a cylinder worn by thousands of openings, keys that went home with somebody, a door that drops on its hinges and no longer meets the keep. If the keys are sitting on a desk in Alicante, this is worth a read first.

How it goes

From the call to the keys in the right hands

  1. Who is asking

The owner, a manager or the leaseholder, with something that shows it.

  2. When it suits the business

Now, if the door is shut; otherwise before opening, after closing or at the weekend.

  3. The price, agreed on site

Once the door and the lock have been seen, before anything is changed.

  4. Keys to a named person

The new keys go to whoever you say, and nobody else.

If the door has been forced, start with the repair after a break-in. For the locks at home, lock changes for houses and flats. If it cannot wait, the any-hour line. Places covered are on the areas page, and to ask for a written quote, email works best.

Questions

Questions from shops, offices and units

Can the lock change happen outside our trading hours?

Yes. Opening a door that will not give is done whenever it happens. Planned cylinder changes are booked early, late or at the weekend so the counter or the loading bay is not held up.

An employee has left with a set of keys. What is the quickest fix?

Change the cylinders that set opened. On most doors that is a short job, and the old keys stop working the moment the new cylinders are in.

Do you weld, make or repair roller shutters and metal doors?

No. The work on business premises is opening doors and changing cylinders and locks, shutter locks included. Bodywork on a shutter or a door is a job for a metalworker.

Who can ask for a unit to be opened?

Someone who can show they speak for the business: the owner, a manager with company papers, or the person named on the lease. If the papers are inside, a phone call from the owner can settle it.

Premises shut, or a lock to change?

Ring, or send a photo of the door and the lock on WhatsApp.
